General Agricultural Competition, Agricultural Fair

From Saturday, February 25 2012 to Sunday, March 4 2012

Since it was first held in 1870, the General Agricultural Competition has selected the best premium local products and the best French breeding animals. Because it is controlled by the state and follows a rigorous screening and selection process, the General Agricultural Competition is renowned for its impartiality and the quality of its results.Thus, 1,000 farmers participate in this contest each year with 120 breeds of six species: cows, sheep, goats, pigs, horses and dogs. In total, more than 2000 animals are judged!The competition also features a contest among the best products and wines of the French regions. Nearly 17,000 products will be shown at the competition in 23 different categories.
